Highlights Ashgrove School- Chapter 1-3- The Tomo

We have been enjoying the lovely weather in North Canterbury. We can work independently on our tasks for the The Tomo so we can take our desks outside to do our learning.
Or stay inside! We love sketch-noting and find it helps us to remember what happened in each chapter and also make connections to the text.
Here are some examples of our Chapter 1-3 sketch noting.
Our Year 7s enjoyed the zoom meeting with Mary anne Scott (our Year 8s missed out because they go to Tech on a Thursday!)

  1. Kia ora koutou. My name is Kerri and I am an ex-teacher who still organises #NZreadaloud because I love it so much!

WOW! Ashgrove kids and teachers this is an AWESOME post on our Blog! Thank you so much for sharing part of your day with us all. I love that when it's fine you take your desks outside - nothing nicer.

The sketchnoting examples are outstanding. As a student, I think I would have LOVED to have been able to sketchnote while someone was reading - it would have helped me so much, like you, to keep up with what's happening and to remember the storyline. I am super happy that you like doing it too.

I also missed most of the Zoom call with Mary-anne as I was in a meeting but I caught the end. Lucky Year 7's aye. Maybe the Year 8's can take part in the next one!

Please keep Blogging. Personally I think it is one of the BEST ways to connect classes. I used to do QuadBlogging and it was a lot of fun. That when 4 classes join up and kind of Blog to each other - share, comment, reply etc.

Anyway, thanks to you all for making our Blog come alive.
